OUR VIEW: Circuit breaker is not perfect, but it will work for now

A circuit breaker isn’t the best solution to high property taxes.

By itself, it’s not even a good solution. It might even be counterproductive to cutting taxes over the long run.

But at this time during a crippling economic recession, when New Yorkers are struggling to pay their rising property taxes, the circuit breaker provides immediate, stop-gap tax relief for many residents.
