Sen. Brian X. Foley Hosts Over 50 Local Groups In His Inaugural Senate Open House
Non-profit organizations from Islip and Brookhaven meet Sen. Foley and staff as part of District Office opening
Following his brief remarks, Sen. Foley individually greeted each guest and engaged in discussions about the ways his office can assist the local groups present. "It was wonderful to meet with Sen. Foley and his staff and continue to build relationships that will help improve the lives of our constituents and communities," said Karen Boorshtein, President of the Family Service League which serves individuals and families in the 3rd Senate District.
Dan Rowland, who represented the Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), took the opportunity to brief Sen. Foley on the changing needs of children with autism and other developmental disabilities. "We appreciate the opportunity to meet with Sen. Foley and the sensitivity and care he continues to show towards children with special needs and their families," said Rowland.
Sen. Foley was elected to the senate seat following his successful tenures as a Suffolk County legislator and the Town of Brookhaven Supervisor. He is currently serving as chairman of the powerful Senate Banking Committee. He also sits on the education, higher education, transportation, and environmental conservation committees.
