Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently visited Kennedy High School in Bellmore to congratulate Elissa Driggin for being chosen as a semifinalist in the annual nationwide Intel Science Talent Search competition.

The Intel Science Talent Search is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious pre-college science competition.  Participants come from all across the country, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands to compete in the program. Elissa was among only 300 students nationwide who were selected as semi-finalists.

Senator Fuschillo presented Elissa with a copy of a legislative resolution that was passed by the State Senate in honor of her achievement.

“Elissa proved that she belongs among the nation’s best and brightest science students. Under the guidance of her teachers, she devoted countless hours to researching, studying, and preparing her project. It is wonderful to see her rewarded for her hard work by being selected for this prestigious honor. I join with the entire community in congratulating this young scientist in what I’m certain will be the first of many remarkable accomplishments,” said Senator Fuschillo.
