State Senator Brings her Office to Staten Islanders
Staten Island's state Sen. Diane Savino brought her office to the people today by setting up shop at the St. George Ferry Terminal.
Complete with a "Ferry Service Report Card," ferry riders who stopped by the "mobile district office" were able to fill out a survey and voice their opinions about commuter service.
At a table set up in the middle of the terminal, riders got the chance to talk with constituent caseworkers and representatives about any issues and concerns they need help with.
"Some constituents may not be aware of the myriad of issues that our office can assist them with," Sen. Savino (D-North Shore/Brooklyn) said in a press release. "The mobile district office allows us to come to you and offer a variety of services, including how to avoid foreclosure, apply for the school income tax rebate program, and get help in paying for prescription medicines."
The mobile office will be open tomorrow and Wednesday, from 7:30 to 9 a.m., in addition to regular office hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the District Office, located at 36 Richmond Terrace.
