Senator Farley Announces Free Kidney Health Screening Available March 8th At Amsterdam’s Centro Civico
State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C - Schenectady) suggests constituents take advantage of the kidney health screening offered by the National Kidney Foundation of NENY at Centro Civico on Thursday, March 8th, from 2 to 6 p.m., located at 143 East Main Street in Amsterdam.
"March is National Kidney Month and this is an excellent way to remind people to keep their kidneys healthy," Senator Farley said. "This program is a free health screening and an early intervention program that identifies individuals at increased risk for kidney disease ."
Senator Farley's office will host an information table at this event with health brochures on topics such as heart disease, breast cancer and the State's EPIC (Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage) program.
Anyone who is 18 years of age or older can benefit from the kidney screening. The process includes a blood pressure analysis, tests for signs of diabetes and kidney disease, blood sugar analysis, blood test for anemia, test for kidney function, and a one-on-one consultation.
