Join In The Dutch And African Celebration Of Pinkster At The Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum!

COME CELEBRATE BROOKLYN'S HISTORY!

Enjoy the music of Dion Parson’s 21st century band, listen to the tales of Brooklyn’s past by the Brooklyn storytellers, explore the history of the Dutch and African-Americans in New York City and rediscover the oldest house in New York City, the Wyckoff Farmhouse museum!

On Sunday, May 24th, 2009 from 12 noon to 4 pm, The Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum will host a FREE celebration of the Pinkster holiday with various family activities.

The day begins at 12 noon with a tour of the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum emphasizing the relationships of the Dutch and Africans in colonial Brooklyn.

From 1:30 – 3:30 enjoy the titillating aromas from our outdoor fire-pit where we will be demonstrating open-hearth cooking.

Also at 2:00 pm The Brooklyn Storytellers will spin tales of the Dutch and Brooklyn’s past!

At 1:00 and 3:00 pm, listen to the musical stylings of Dion Parson’s 21st Century Band; Featuring Ron Blake on sax, Carlton Holmes at the piano, and Essiet’s cool bass.

Finally, make a cornhusk doll throughout the day with your family to complete the experience
