Senate Majority Leader Malcolm A. Smith Visits Long Island, Joins Senators Johnson And Foley To Announce Statewide Legislation And Policy Initiative

In his first visit to Long Island since being elected State Senate Majority Leader earlier this month, Senator Malcolm A. Smith will meet Friday with Senators Craig Johnson (D-Port Washington) and Brian X. Foley (D-Blue Point) to discuss ways in which the Senate can better work with local municipalities to address local concerns, protect Long Island’s interest during this year’s budget process, and get our economy back on track.  

Following their discussion, Senator Johnson, who is the new Chair of the Senate’s Committee on Investigations and Government Operations, will announce a major piece of statewide legislation relating to community safety. Senator Foley will also unveil a significant policy initiative coming out of the Senate’s Banking Committee. Foley was recently named Chairman of that important committee.
