Senator Nozzolio Congratulates the Newark Lady Reds, 2009 Class A State Champions

Albany– State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio recently honored the Newark Lady Reds Girls’ Basketball Team for their victory as the 2009 Class A State Champions during the team’s recent visit to the State Capitol in Albany. The team defeated Albertus Magnus High School of Bardonia on March 21 to win the title, their first ever State Championship. The students toured the State Capitol and attended the State Senate's legislative session, where Senator Nozzolio recognized the team with a special New York State Resolution honoring their victory.  Senator Nozzolio also recognized Coach Diane Kirnie for her outstanding record, and recalled last year's season when she captured her 300^th career win.
