Senator Nozzolio Receives “Circle Of Friends” Award From New York Farm Bureau
Albany—In recognition of his support of the agriculture industry, New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) has been honored by the New York Farm Bureau with its “Circle of Friends” award. The “Circle of Friends” award acknowledges Senator Nozzolio’s support of New York agriculture and the New York Farm Bureau.
“It is an honor for me to receive this recognition from the New York Farm Bureau and I commend them for their continued advocacy on issues important to our agriculture community,” said Senator Nozzolio. “As the State Senator representing one of the largest agriculture districts in New York, I know how important the farm industry is to our region, and I will continue to fight on their behalf.”
Some of Senator Nozzolio’s recent accomplishments on behalf of the agriculture community include the establishment of the Ag Tech Park at the New York Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva and the creation of the Farm To School program to promote the purchase of homegrown products in our schools. Senator Nozzolio has also fought for State aid to assist area farmers, including apple growers and Christmas tree farmers, as well as vegetable growers and wine and grape producers.
In September, Senator Nozzolio announced plans to construct a new $40 million State Food Laboratory at the Ag Tech Park. The state-of-the art food laboratory will provide expert analytical testing for food safety and focus on agriculture, food, and biological-based enterprises.
Senator Nozzolio has been named to the “Circle of Friends” by the Farm Bureau each year since he was elected to serve as a member of the State Senate in 1992.
