Senator McDonald Opens Troy District Office

TROY – Senator Roy McDonald opened his official Senate District Office in the City of Troy on Friday, March 13th. All residents of the 43rd Senate District were welcomed for an open house from 12 to 4 p.m.

The Senator was joined by numerous officials from Rensselaer County including; Troy Mayor Harry Tutunjian, Rensselaer County Executive Kathy Jimino, Chairman of the Rensselaer County Legislature Neil Kelleher Jr., County Clerk Frank Merola, and Rensselaer County Sheriff Jack Mahar for a ribbon cutting ceremony at Hedley Park Place, the former Cluett Peabody building.

“I’m returning home to give back to the community which provided me numerous opportunities growing up as a youth” McDonald continued, “relatives of mine grew up just blocks away on 9th street and many of my family members worked in this building. It’s a great feeling to be able to connect with the past and become a part of the resurgence of Troy.”

The District Office will provide the Senator with a location to hold important meetings with business owners, community residents and other elected officials. The Senator plans to have conferences and symposiums in the office as a means to bring people into the heart of Troy so they can enjoy the wonderful architecture and culture of the City. In addition, the office will serve as a resource to provide assistance for community members of the 43rd Senate District.

“This is a great feeling, and I’m very proud to play a role in the revival of the City of Troy” McDonald continued on, “even during difficult times we need to work together to ensure the future success of our upstate communities and the establishment of my district office here is a sign of my commitment towards meeting that goal in Troy.”

“It’s important that we partner with the City of Troy and all of Rensselaer County with the intent of molding it into a more successful area of the Capital Region, the great people and community here are the backbone of this new beginning” Said Senator McDonald.

Senator McDonald also has a satellite office located at the County Building at 40 Woodlawn Avenue in Saratoga Springs that will provide services to Saratoga County.
