Senator Saland’s 14th Annual Golden Gathering

Senator Steve Saland (R,C Poughkeepsie) will hold his 14th Annual Golden Gathering on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson. The event will be held between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

"The Golden Gathering is a wonderful opportunity for senior citizens to meet in a central location and have access to a large variety of useful information and services," said Senator Saland. "I encourage all Columbia County seniors to join us at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson on October 21st."

There will be over seventy information tables where seniors can gather materials on a wide range of subjects. In addition, representatives from a variety of organizations will be on hand to answer questions.

The Golden Gathering will include many types of health testing free of charge. Free flu shots, sponsored by Mid-Hudson Cablevision, will be offered by the Columbia County Department of Health. Mammograms will also be available at the Bellevue Hospital Mobile Mammography Van. Those who would like a mammogram must register by calling 1-888-423-3366.

Free antique appraisals by licensed appraiser Rick Lawler will be offered. Live entertainment will be provided by the Philmont Community Chorus. There will be refreshments and raffles for door prizes. Everything is free of charge.
