Senator Steve Saland Named As Member Of New York Farm Bureau’s Circle Of Friends

Stephen M. Saland

The “Circle of Friends” honor is awarded to New York State legislators who have voted in support of bills that address the challenges faced by family farms in New York. Since 1911 the Farm Bureau has worked to encourage efficient production, better marketing, fair legislation, and a safe food supply and work environment for New York’s farms. The “Circle of Friends” honor started in 1999 and Senator Saland has been honored as a member each year since its inception.

“Agriculture is the number one industry in New York and the farms in Duchess and Columbia Counties are an extremely important part of the economy and the social fabric of the Hudson Valley,” said Senator Saland. I am most honored to have been named to the New York Farm Bureau’s “Circle of Friends” again this year in recognition of my efforts to support legislation which will help to sustain and enrich family farms.”
