Yonkers Insider: Yonkers Resident Honored as a NYS Senate Contemporary Woman of Distinction

On Tuesday, May 25th, Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins was proud to honor Yonkers resident Helen Henkel as one of the New York State Senate’s Contemporary Women of Distinction. As a Contemporary Woman of Distinction, Ms. Henkel was honored for her contributions that have enriched the quality of life in our community. Helen Henkel is deeply committed to community service, acting as a member of the Yonkers Board of Ethics since 1989, a member of the Mayor’s Community Relations Committee since 1991, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Yonkers Exchange Club and as a Board Member of the newly formed Yonkers Arts Inc., in support of the arts in the City of Yonkers. Helen is also involved with over 125 community organizations serving Yonkers and Westchester County….
