Over 200 local residents visited the Freeport Recreation Center to receive information about job training, career counseling, and other employment advice as part of Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr.’s Job Resource Expo.

“At a time when competition in the job market is extremely high, receiving career counseling and learning about resume writing, job training programs, and interviewing skills will help better prepare residents who are looking for a job or change in career. This event was an excellent opportunity for individuals to learn about programs and services that are available to help them find the job they want,” said Senator Fuschillo (R-Merrick).

Representatives from over 25 different government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and colleges provided a host of different services to those in attendance. Residents learned about resume writing, job training programs, and interviewing skills. Attendees were also able to speak one-on-one with career counselors and have their resumes reviewed by employment professionals.

In addition, information was also available about different social service programs designed to help those who are out of work or facing financial difficulties.

Residents who were unable to attend Senator Fuschillo’s Job Resource Expo but would like information about any of the services that were offered can call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630 or email him by clicking here.
