Local Bone Marrow Registration Drive Being Held Later this Week
Albany, N.Y., March 22--State Senator George Winner (R-C-I, Elmira) reminded area residents today that the American Cancer Society of Elmira and the Rochester-based Be The Match Foundation will sponsor a two-day Bone Marrow Registration Drive later this week.
“It’s a great cause and an incredibly meaningful effort for potential recipients and donors alike,” Winner said.
Winner noted that the upcoming drive is being organized by Corning resident Ed Mancini, a Bone Marrow candidate and cancer survivor. Mancini was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma 10 years ago.
This week’s local Bone Marrow Registration Drive will be held on Wednesday, March 24th at the following locations:
-- Hilton Garden Inn in Horseheads (35 Arnot Road), from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and
-- the AIM Building in Elmira (next door to the American Cancer Society, 1316 College Avenue), from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The following day, Thursday, March 25th, drives will be held at the:
-- United Steel Workers of America, Local 1000 Union Hall (Civic Center Plaza), from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and
-- Radisson Hotel in Corning (Denison Parkway) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
