NYS SENATOR JOSEPH P. ADDABBO, JR.: AQUEDUCT STATEMENT

Queens, NY, July 7, 2010 – “After evaluating the recent decision by the New York Lottery regarding the future of Aqueduct Racetrack, I intend to continue my position of making every effort to work cooperatively with whomever is selected to operate at Aqueduct for the sake of my constituents.

This long-overdue selection process is one of the final hurdles to realizing the approximately 1,000 construction and post-construction jobs, financial benefits to the state, and long-term benefits to the residents of the surrounding communities. 

I will also continue to stress those issues that need to be addressed by the selected Aqueduct operator, particularly among those are the concerns for traffic patterns and public safety.”
