"Not all of the attendees were rock-ribbed Republicans, but most were avid hunters and outdoorspeople, mostly from rural upstate regions. One of the more popular speakers was the manager of the Remington arms Ilion factory who drew applause with mentions of the firm’s classic shotguns.

Budd Schroeder, an NRA activist from the western New York community of Lancaster, noted that lawmakers of both parties from that region including Francine Delmonte, and Bill Stachowski, both Dems, are pro-gun as are Republicans George Maziarz and Catharine Young."
