Irving Tissue opens expanded plant in Fort Edward to chorus of praise

FORT EDWARD -- A wave of state officials descended on Fort Edward Tuesday to praise the completion of Irving Tissue's $150 million expansion, the creation of 30 jobs and retention of about 270 and the state's role in the achievement.

The expansion begin in 2009 with construction of three new buildings and installation of what Irving officials call state-of-the art machinery that will make it possible to manufacture tissue on site, start to finish, for the first time.
