Senate ethics forum to be conducted with help of social media

Those unable to attend Wednesday's public forum on ethics reform will be able to participate through social media websites.

Sen. Daniel Squadron, D-Carroll Gardens, and other members of the Democratic Conference will host the first forum on ethics reform Wednesday.

During the first forum on ethics reform in almost two years, the senators plan to discuss proposed legislation that would establish an independent commission to oversee government ethics (S.31) and increase the requirements on financial and client disclosure (S.382).

The public can submit real time questions through Twitter via @NYSenDems and the hashtags #AlbanyEthics and #NYSenate. Questions will also be accepted at the e-mail address NYSenDems@gmail.com. According to Squadron, former New York City Mayor Ed Koch plans to tweet questions during the forum.
