Community Leaders Meet to Discuss Stop & Frisk and other Law Enforcement Policies

Eric Adams

On Thursday, September 29, New York City leaders held a strategy meeting at DC 37 headquarters to begin to tackle some of the pervasive problems that face communities of color, such as the NYPD's current Stop & Frisk policy and other law enforcement issues. The meeting was co-convened by the National Action Network; the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic and Asian Legislative Caucus, Chair Assemblyman Karim Camara; Make the Road; and the New York Civil Liberties Union on behalf of Council Member Jumaane D. Williams (D-Brooklyn) and Kirsten John Foy.  This meeting was part of the larger response from Council Member Williams and Min. Kirsten Foy to the incident that took place at the West Indian Day Parade on Labor Day.
