GAPCo Celebrates Recent Enhancements to Grand Army Plaza

Eric Adams

The Grand Army Plaza Coalition (GAPCo) celebrated the recent improvements to street and bicycle networks around Grand Army Plaza, improving traffic and pedestrian safety and access around the plaza, and beautifying existing and new pedestrian islands. Senator Adams, DOT Commissioner Janette Sadik-Kahn, and other elected officials joined in the celebration to recognize the enhancements that have helped to make travel around the Plaza – by car, on foot or by bicyle – safer and more efficient.  The Grand Army Plaza Coalition was founded in March 2006 by Project for Public Spaces and a group of committed local residents.
