Onorato, SHAREing & CAREing Hold Cancer Run/Walk

The Queens Gazette reported on the SHAREing & CAREing Run/Walk To Fight Cancer that took place at Astoria Park on September 25. Senator Gianaris was there advocating for breast and ovarian cancer patients and their families, along with over 200 participants.

Under an early morning sky on September 25, local politicians and community organizers joined area residents at the Astoria Park track for the Senator George Onorato and SHAREing & CAREing Run/Walk To Fight Cancer.

More than 200 persons participated in the run/walk.

Present at the event was former state Senator George Onorato and his wife Athena, former City Council Speaker Peter Vallone Sr., state Senator Mike Gianaris, SHAREing & CAREing President/Founder Anna Kril and Committee members Pat Babor, Tom Nowierski, Linda Perno and Carolyn Scarano. Also present were Irene Stathatos, chief of staff to Gianaris, Loren Amor representing Assemblymember Aravella Simotas, Ed Babor representing Congressmember Carolyn Maloney, state Committeewoman Laura Jean Hawkins, Quontic Bank Vice-President Michael Serao, Theodore Kasapis, Gazette Publisher Tony Barsamian and Variety Boys & Girls Club of Astoria Executive Director Terence Hughes.
