Senator O'Mara's online poll: Is Cuomo budget plan headed in right direction?

Albany, N.Y.—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Elmira) is giving residents of his 53rd Senate District an opportunity to weigh in on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s 2011-2012 proposed state budget through a new online poll. 

Earlier this week in Albany Cuomo proposed a $132.9-billion state budget that calls for a 2.7-percent overall reduction in state spending and a comprehensive realignment and restructuring of many state programs and services.

“I expect to hear directly from this region’s local leaders and concerned citizens, and I encourage and welcome their input.  The next step in this process is to carefully and deliberately explore the local impact of Governor Cuomo’s plan,” said O’Mara, whose 53rd District includes all of Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties, and part of Tompkins County (the city of Ithaca, and the towns of Enfield, Ithaca, Newfield, and Ulysses). 

O’Mara’s new online poll gives constituents the chance to express their views on the general direction of the proposed budget by asking the following question: “Is Governor Cuomo putting New York State on the right track with this 2011-2012 proposed state budget?”
