Honor Soldiers on Memorial Day

Hugh T. Farley

Monday, May 28th, is the observed commemoration of Memorial Day. It is a day when it is appropriate and important that we pause in our busy lives to remember those who fought for our Country and died. Memorial Day originally began as a time for the families of Civil War soldiers to commemorate the heroic actions of their deceased family members. Over the years, it came to serve as a co...mmemoration to remember all the U.S. men and women killed or missing in action when serving their country. To learn more about the history of Memorial Day visit http://www1.va.gov/opa/speceven/memday/history.asp Please take the time over these next few days to say "thank you" to our veterans who are still with us and who have sacrificed so much in keeping our Country safe and free.
