Ithaca, N.Y., October 18--Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced today that the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will build and renovate the playground area at Robert Treman State Park.

The park improvements are funded with $125,000 from the New York Works initiative.

“It is important that children have a safe and engaging place to play, and these NY Works projects will give them just that in state parks across New York,” said Cuomo. “The numbers tell the story of more and more people visiting the parks, and I encourage everyone to visit these new and improved areas inside the state parks as well as the beauty that New York has to offer.”

State Senator Tom O'Mara (R,C-Big Flats) said, “Our region is fortunate to enjoy a premiere network of historic sites, parks and trails, including the Robert H. Treman State Park in Tompkins County. It’s one of our great attractions and its enhancement through the New York Works initiative will make it even more attractive and family-friendly to campers and other visitors. These New York Works investments will go a long way toward securing the future quality and strength of the Finger Lakes region’s recreational and tourism foundations.”
