Report says Steuben County's DMV road test sites won't be closed

Thomas F. O'Mara

Late last fall, Senator O'Mara joined Assemblyman Phil Palmesano of Corning to protest a proposal by the state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to reduce the number of drivers’ road tests locations in Steuben County from three to one.

Under that DMV plan, Steuben County would have been left with a single DMV road test site located in Corning.  Current sites in Bath and Hornell would have been closed.

Now, according to a report in the Hornell Evening Tribune, it appears that the department has changed direction and none of the sites will be eliminated.
