Statement from Sen. O'Mara on Army Specialist Ryan P. Jayne -- Governor Cuomo directs flags to be flown at half-staff today in honor of fallen soldiers

Corning, N.Y., November 7—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) released the following statement today on the death of U.S. Army Specialist Ryan P. Jayne of Steuben County, who was one of three upstate New York soldiers killed in Afghanistan on Saturday, November 3, 2012:

“Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Army Specialist Ryan P. Jayne.  Ryan made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country admirably and courageously.  I know that I join the residents of Steuben County and our entire region in mourning Ryan’s passing and in expressing our enduring gratitude and respect for his service, and the sacrifice and service of his fellow soldiers.”   

Governor Andrew Cuomo has directed that flags on all state government buildings be flown at half-staff today in honor of Army Spc. Jayne and his fellow soldiers.
