[April 12, 2012 update from the Ithaca Journal: "Full church hears farewell to Ithaca Marine Cpl. Bordoni"]

The motorcade bringing U.S. Marine Corporal Christopher D. Bordoni back home to Tompkins County arrived in Ithaca on Tuesday evening.

New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo recently issued a directive that flags on state government buildings be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, April 10 in honor of Cpl. Bordoni.  Read the governor's directive here.

Senator O’Mara recently released the following statement on Cpl. Bordoni's death:

“Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of U.S. Marine Corporal Christopher Bordoni.  Christopher made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country admirably and courageously.  I know that I join the residents of Tompkins County and our entire region in mourning Christopher’s passing and in expressing our enduring gratitude and respect for his service.”
