Poughkeepsie Journal: Terry Gipson pledges to fight gridlock in Senate

Terry Gipson

Poughkeepsie Journal: January 13, 2013

The Poughkeepsie Journal reported on Senator Terry Gipson's Swearing-In Ceremony at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel on January 12, 2013. Over 500 people attended along with State Senators Neil Breslin, Gustavo Rivera, George Latimer and Democratic Conference Leader, Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins.

Senator Gipson outlined his aggressive agenda for the upcoming session and the Journal said:

Terry Gipson said he plans to show his face in Albany for a broad agenda of causes and reforms, including campaign financing and solutions to the gridlock that often has blocked progress.

Gipson, a Democrat taking his first term as state senator representing the 41st District covering most of Dutchess and part of Putnam counties, told a large crowd Saturday that on his first visit to the Senate chamber, he saw gridlock.

There was “old-school partisan politics on the Senate floor.”

But he said he planned to “work with anyone that is willing to sit down and talk with me.

“They had better get used to seeing my face at their office doors,” Gipson said.
