Last Day To Vote ~ Let's Show Our Support for Watkins Glen as 'America's Coolest Small Town 2013' ~ Vote Now!

Dear Finger Lakes supporters:

Last year at this time, many of you might remember that I asked for your help in making one of our great Finger Lakes towns, Hammondsport, Budget Travel magazine’s “America's Coolest Small Town 2012.”

Thanks to your response and the response of thousands of others across our region, Hammondsport was victorious last year and has greatly enjoyed and benefitted from its one-year reign as America’s Coolest Small Town.  It was a great honor for the Hammondsport community, and it was a great opportunity to keep national and worldwide attention focused on the Finger Lakes region.

Now we have the chance to express our pride once again.  This year, we have another opportunity to keep the Finger Lakes region on the map!

That’s right, with just a few weeks to go in Budget Travel magazine’s 2013 online competition to decide “America’s Coolest Small Town 2013,” Watkins Glen (Schuyler County) is the only town in New York State still in the running for the title and one of 15 finalists for this year’s award.

As a result, I'm glad to be joining the Watkins Glen Chamber of Commerce to help spread the word and encourage region wide support for one of our great local small towns.

According to the magazine, Budget Travel readers nominated a record 924 towns from across America this year.  That number is now down to the 15 finalists and, as of this writing, Watkins Glen is running in 2nd place.

So let’s do our part to try to help Watkins Glen take -- and keep -- the lead!
