O'Mara, Chemung County Sheriff welcome Eiger, the county's new K-9 officer
Senator O'Mara welcomed the opportunity to help welcome "Eiger," Chemung County's new K-9 officer, to his new home at the Chemung County Sheriff's Office.
"We're proud to have Eiger here," the senator said of the 1 1/2-year-old German shepherd, who was certified last week with his handler Deputy David Padgett as a narcotics and tracking team.

Senator O'Mara also noted that legislation (S.1079/A.2596) he voted for and strongly supports was recently approved by both houses of the Legislature and is awaiting Governor Andrew Cuomo's signature to become law that would further protect New York's police dogs.
