O'Mara welcomes announcement that Corning Inc. will expand diesel facility in Steuben County, create jobs

Corning, N.Y., April 25—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) released the following statement on today’s announcement that Corning Incorporated will invest $250 million and expand its diesel plant in the town of Erwin:
“Corning Incorporated has long been a cornerstone and a mainstay of our regional economy. This major expansion and Corning’s expectation of creating 250 local jobs couldn’t arrive at a better time. Following a string of tough economic losses across the Southern Tier over the past year, it’s positive news. I’m confident that I speak for thousands of area workers and their families, and many area communities, when I express our gratitude to Corning Incorporated for its ongoing commitment to our region and the future of the Southern Tier.”
