Thomas F. O'Mara

Elmira, N.Y., August 13—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) released the following statement on New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s visit to the Finger Lakes region today to showcase the state’s wine and grape industry and other tourism-related assets and strengths:

"We appreciate Governor Cuomo’s ongoing recognition that our region remains, in so many key ways, at the heart of New York State’s agriculture- and tourism-related industries.  I’m especially proud that the Finger Lakes wine and grape industry plays a prominent role in sparking such a strong sense of quality and pride in all that New York State has to offer.  Our wine and grapes, tourism foundations and visitor attractions are second to none.  The governor, the Legislature, local leaders and industry have been working together very well to advance the wine and tourism industries.  We must continue to follow through and keep working together on a short- and long-term game plan that will enhance our tourism assets, strengthen our successes and keep building new economic opportunities for the future.”
