Albany, N.Y., April 30—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) released the following statement on today’s announcement that Finger Lakes Distilling, a farm distillery in Burdett (Schuyler County), will be one of 24 New York State distilleries participating in the prestigious Manhattan Cocktail Classic’s Opening Night Gala on Friday, May 17, 2013 in New York City:

“What a great honor – and opportunity – for Finger Lakes Distilling to showcase the excellence of their handmade spirits, and a true testament to the quality of their craft and their commitment to locally grown fruits and grains.  We’re proud that Finger Lakes Distilling will carry the banner for our region at such a top-flight gathering of cocktail enthusiasts.  It reinforces the proud reputation of the Finger Lakes as a cornerstone of New York’s agriculture, tourism and hospitality industries.”

According to the announcement by Governor Andrew Cuomo earlier today, which follows up the governor’s October 2012 Wine, Beer and Spirits Summit, Finger Lakes Distilling (http://fingerlakesdistilling.com/) will be among the two dozen spirits producers from across New York State pouring their handcrafted beverages at the Manhattan Cocktail Classic, a prestigious black-tie event that attracts more than 3,000 cocktail enthusiasts annually.
