State Senate's public hearings on tax reform get underway in Albany today ~ Watch live beginning at 10 a.m.

Albany, N.Y., September 3--The New York State Senate committees on Finance, and Investigations and Government Operations, kicks off a series of five statewide public hearings throughout September and October to hear testimony from regional and statewide business leaders on how state tax policies can be reformed to promote private-sector job growth.

Today's hearing will feature testimony from statewide business organizations including the Business Council of New York State; National Federation of Independent Business; Unshackle Upstate; the New York State Economic Development Council; the Manhattan Institute; the Tax Foundation; New York Farm Bureau; the Manufacturers Association of Central New York; Associated Builders and Contractors; and the Center State Corporation for Economic Opportunity. 

The hearing is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Legislative Office Building at the capital.

Senator O'Mara will join his committee colleagues for the second regional hearing in Syracuse tomorrow.  

Other hearings are slated for Buffalo, Long Island and New York City.
