Thanks For Giving

As reported by the Queens Gazette:

State Senator Jose Peralta, in conjunction with Woodside on the Move, distributed nearly 600 free turkeys to local churches, soup kitchens, food pantries and senior centers, including New Life Pantry, Community United Methodist Church and Corona Senior Center.

Hundreds of 10- to- 12- pound frozen turkeys were picked up Saturday morning from a Fresh Direct truck in front of Peralta’s office. The rest were picked up at Food Bazaar supermarkets in Jackson Heights and Corona with vouchers provided by the senator ’s office.
