Statement from Senator Robach on Upstate Revitalization Initiative Award

This funding will be transformative for the Rochester and Finger Lakes Region. We have a strategic plan that will strengthen our economy with aid to photonics, investing in the Eastman Business Park, expanding on the successes of local agricultural businesses and incentivizing job growth in optics. The name of the game is creating jobs, and this will help our region do just that by bolstering new technology, investing in the University of Rochester, RIT and other local colleges and universities, and putting resources into our skilled and trained workforce, it truly is a win-win for our community. As a member of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council, I am proud of the hard work and dedication of this group, and would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone involved in this proposal, especially Co-Chairs Joel Seligman and Danny Wegman.
