As a result, State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C,I-Big Flats) and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I-Corning) are joining the Watkins Glen Chamber of Commerce to urge residents from throughout the 58th Senate District and the 132nd Assembly District to “continue showing our support for one of our great state parks and keep voting to put the Finger Lakes region on the national map once again.”
In a joint statement, O’Mara and Palmesano said, “We have an opportunity to once again keep the Finger Lakes region on the national map. Watkins Glen State Park is the only area park still in the running and included in this prestigious collection of best state parks in America. We’re proud that we can help rally support for one of our own. We hope everyone will keep voting every day from now until March 30th.”
O’Mara and Palmesano said that the ‘America’s Best State Park’ designation would be an effective marketing tool for local leaders and help boost tourism throughout the entire Finger Lakes region.
