Rochester Receives $16 million for Anti-Poverty Initiative
The Rochester region has been awarded $16 million in state aid to help fight poverty in our community. This funding will support Monroe Community College Workforce Development Center, Mentors For Success Adult Mentoring Pilot Program and Expansion of Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection Youth Mentoring Program, and is designed to give people the skills and education to compete for employment in our local workforce.
This is an important issue, and this holistic move will have a positive impact on our entire community moving forward.
