North Tonawanda Breaks Ground on Children’s Memorial Garden

Robert G. Ortt

Senator Ortt joined Mayor Art Pappas and residents Friday for a groundbreaking ceremony on the Children’s Memorial Garden at Brauer Park in North Tonawanda. The garden will serve as a place of somber reflection for community members who have lost a child. The project was made possible through a $50,000 grant facilitated through Senator Ortt and a $7,500 donation from the Rotary Club of the Tonawandas. During the ceremony, Senator Ortt thanked Art and Linda (Pappas) as well as community supporters for their leadership on this project. The Children’s Memorial Garden is expected to be completed by 2017.
