NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- A victory for Niagara Falls residents who wanted the Governor to stop his call for development on Goat Island.
The state announced Friday it will not build a lodge on Goat Island after all.
However, the state is still looking to build a lodge somewhere, just not on the island or in Niagara Falls State Park.
New York State Sen. Rob Ortt (R-62) believes building in the right location could help spur economic development in the region.
