Arizona Republic: Guatemalan mother regains custody of her children after 54 days apart

Gonzalez Garcia regaining custody means "one down and thousands to go," said New York state Sen. Michael Gianaris, who represents the area where the foster-care facility is located.

"We shouldn't have to fight our federal government to do the right thing," Gianaris said in an interview. "We're now relying on individual citizens to counteract the horrible act."
