Kaminsky Discusses Upcoming Session and Democrat Priorities
Democrats will fully control New York State government next year after securing a majority in the New York State Senate, and promise a progressive agenda including action on abortion rights and voting reform.
After wins on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley, Democratic ranks in the state senate rose from 31 to at least 37, and possibly 39. Either would be the largest majority they have held there in the modern history of the 63-seat chamber.....
.......“What we can’t have at the end of the day is a lot of Democrats in one place and no accomplishments,” said Sen. Todd Kaminsky, a Democrat from Long Beach. “We’re going to have to get good things done and realize not everyone is going to get everything he or she wants.”
