"More guns is not — and never will be — the answer," Kaminsky said.

According to Kaminsky, current New York law would still allow a pathway for teachers to carry guns in schools, should the federal government decide to scrap restrictions on guns in school zones. The new legislation would ensure that schools in New York remained gun free.
