The truth is, if we don’t pay for our elected officials’ campaigns directly, we will most certainly pay indirectly, through higher rents, higher health costs, and higher prices on everything else big donors have to sell.
So which would you choose? The old system where those with the fattest wallets decide who gets elected and what laws get passed? Or a new matching system that allows New York voters to choose our candidates and keep them focused on our pocketbooks and our interests?
That seems like an easy choice to me. If you agree, now’s the time to let your state Senators and Assembly members know.
