Ocasio-Cortez, addressing a post-Amazon NYC, says city workers deserve better than "scraps"

Fellow Bronx rookie state Sen. Alessandra Biaggi, the granddaughter of the late Bronx Rep. Mario Biaggi, was among several speakers applauding Ocasio-Cortez at an event delayed by the lengthy government shutdown.

“Every day we see proof in the importance of increasing the power of women in every part of our society and especially in our government,” said Biaggi. “Both of us beat very powerful men.”
