Gaughran hosts annual NYS Senate Women of Distinction awards ceremony

State Sen. James Gaughran (D-Northport) held his first annual Women of Distinction awards ceremony Saturday, March 23, at Cold Spring Harbor Public Library. The ceremony honored 15 women from across the 5th Senate District whose outstanding work on behalf of their communities make them each deserving of special recognition by the NYS Senate as a New York Woman of Distinction. The honorees were joined by family members, friends, and other special guests.

"I am delighted to be joined bysuch outstanding women at my first annual Women of Distinction awards ceremony," Gaughran said. "There is no more fitting way to celebrate Women's History Month than by celebrating the incredible achievements of these extraordinary women."
