All New York public schools must observe September 11th Remembrance Day by holding a moment a silence, thanks to new legislation.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the legislation into law on Monday and made the announcement in a statement.
Cuomo wants New Yorkers to remember the sacrifices 'countless heroes' and first responders gave during the attack on September 11, 2001.
'9/11 was one of the single darkest periods in this state's and this nation's history,' the statement said.
