Lawmakers on both sides blast plan for new license plates

"I am deeply concerned and strongly opposed to the recent announcement that New Yorkers will soon have to spend money to replace their license plates with a new design," Skoufis said. "At a time when middle-class residents of New York face a continually rising cost of living, saddling people with unnecessary additional fees to replace their license plates is outrageous."

"The nickel and diming of state residents by the DMV and other state agencies must stop," Skoufis added.
