States Are Funding the Gun Violence Research the Feds Won’t

While the U.S. federal government neglects allocating proper funding into research on gun violence, states are taking matters into their own hands. California and New Jersey have launched their own centers already, and Washington and New York are following suit.

In New York, Senator Persaud is sponsoring legislation (S1083) that would create a gun violence research institute; the purpose being conducting studies on the issue of gun-related violence and then coming up with proper solutions.

Discussions on gun control are ongoing across the country, but I would like to see more research done. Better policies may be created, and reached sooner, if we are well informed.
